What To Expect The Service Design Engineering team is responsible for design-to-production of custom service and commissioning tooling/sustaining solutions to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Telsa’s Energy storage and charging solutions. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing the evolving energy industry forward by outlining process/design changes that will drive significant service cost savings, defining engineering specifications derived from cross functional investigations they lead, and integrating AI/tool/procedure development with existing ecosystems.

What You'll Do

  • Product engineering: You will drive software and hardware tool specifications, system ticketing, and directions based on thousands of real user feedback in day-to-day usage through cost analysis, case studies, and engineering-driven RCA
  • Design execution: You will specify software and firmware features that directly enhance service efficiency, from intuitive dropdown menus in existing end-user tools to automated quality control (QC) solutions for hardware suites
  • Advanced Analytics & Dashboarding: Specify, design, and build advanced analytical dashboards. You will define KPIs that measure operational effectiveness, providing real-time visibility for data-backed decision making across the team
  • Data-Driven Engineering Feedback: Partner with diverse engineering disciplines to provide deep, analytical insights that influence product and service solutions designs. Your analysis will help improve serviceability, reduce downtime, and enhance product reliability
  • Business Case & Impact Analysis: Develop compelling business cases for new technologies, service tools, and operational strategies. Translating each decision to a $/kwh value for the entirety of the service engineering organization
  • Program management/project ownership: Drive cross-functional projects from hypothesis to fully validated solution in field, with clear ROI. Proactively unblock projects and manage technical handshakes between teams

  • What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Engineering or Data/Analytics or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Nice to have proficiency in SQL and Python for complex data extraction and manipulation from large datasets
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand. Ability to present material status effectively in weekly program/executive meetings
  • Strong proficiency in product, electromechanical systems, complex troubleshooting, and feature development with an aptitude for process definition and standardization
  • A demonstrated interest and aptitude for business case development and engineering specification/direction definition

    $100,000 - $180,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
