Job Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Upholsterers to join our team at Primero Staffing. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for applying high-quality fabrics, leathers, and padding to handcrafted furniture frames. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Frame Preparation: Inspect wooden frames for any defects and apply foam, cotton, or synthetic padding to ensure the foundation of the piece is smooth and comfortable.
  • Fabric & Leather Application: Measure, cut, and stretch upholstery materials over frames using pneumatic tools, ensuring that all fabrics are pulled tight without wrinkles or puckering.
  • Pattern Matching: Carefully align floral, striped, or geometric patterns across different sections of the furniture (such as arms, backs, and cushions) to maintain a seamless, high-end look.
  • Trim & Detail Work: Execute detailed finishing tasks, including hand-tufting, applying decorative nail-head trim, and attaching skirts or welting with precision.
  • Quality Inspection: Review production tickets for specific custom requirements and perform a final "bench check" to ensure the piece is free of defects before it moves to the shipping department.
  • Station Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe workspace while properly caring for air tools, staple guns, and specialized upholstery hand tools.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Upholstery, Inside/Outside Trimming, or Furniture Sewing or a related field is preferred.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy furniture frames throughout the day.
  • Ability to work independently on custom pieces while also functioning as part of a larger production team.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and guidelines, especially when operating pneumatic equipment.
