At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget.</p><p></p><p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. </p><ul><li>Describe and interpret cytologic preparations from fine needle aspirates, body fluids and hematologic specimens to determine the cause of disease or death in animals</li><li>Prepare pathology narrative reports of cytologic, hermatologic and clinical pathology data.</li><li>Dictating medical evaluations using Dragon and other dictating software</li><li>Consult with Veterinarians about diseases detected in sample tissues and fluids based on test results and clinical findings through Skype, phone and email</li><li>Participate in Pathology rounds bi-weekly</li><li>Describe, interpret and generate reports for research samples in companion and laboratory animals, including cerebrospinal fluid, bone marrow aspirates and hematologic data.</li><li>Provide medical second opinions as requested by clients or from colleagues.</li><li>Describe and interpret histopathologic findings from bone marrow core biopsies.</li><li>Provide scientific and technical advice to laboratory staff and Veterinarians with regard to sample collection and submission.</li><li>Stay current on veterinary and medical practiced through continuously reviewing journal publications, text books and attending continuing education conferences and seminars</li><li>Participate in the Quality Control program</li><li>Maintain proficiency in clinical diagnostic skills</li><li>Assist in other duties relevant to Clinical Pathology and other lab services</li><li>May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives special projects or other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:</b></p><ul><li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent</li><li>Diplomat of American College of Veterinary Pathologists</li><li>Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in respective state</li></ul><p></p><p><b>REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>The ability to think outside the box, with a keen attention to detail.</li><li>Analytical and problem solving skills</li><li>Ability to prioritize</li><li>Strong passion for helping people and animals</li><li>Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment</li><li>Previous experience in a lab environment a plus</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively with clients and management is required</li><li>The ability to work effectively remotely with minimal supervision</li><li>Previous experience with Dragon software a plus.</li><li>Previous experience with Dicom viewers a plus</li><li>Fluency in English</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Benefits</b></p><p>Antech offers an industry competitive benefits package and continues to invest in and evolve benefits programs that meet the health, wellness and financial needs of our associates.</p><p>Benefits eligiblity is based on employment status.</p><ul><li><p>Paid Time Off & Holidays </p></li><li><p>Medical, Dental, Vision (Multiple Plans Available) </p></li><li><p>Basic Life (Company Paid) & Supplemental Life </p></li><li><p>Short and Long Term Disability (Company Paid) </p></li><li><p>Flexible Spending Accounts/Health Savings Accounts </p></li><li><p>Paid Parental Leave </p></li><li><p>401(k) with company match </p></li><li><p>Tuition/Continuing Education Reimbursement </p></li><li><p>Life Assistance Program </p></li><li><p>Pet Care Discounts</p></li></ul><p></p>
